Shop Locally!
Today is Black Friday, tomorrow Small Business Saturday, and it's only twenty-five days till Christmas! Maybe you're one of those people who has all their shopping done by now, or maybe you're like Caitlin. Before you head out of town or online to do your shopping, take a look here in town at all we have to offer. And if your GBA member business is having a sale, please let Caitlin know so she can help spread the word. We've got it in Greenfield!
Yes, You CAN
Still Sponsor a Holiday Light
It's true, you still have time to get a star but not much. The decorations are up and they look GREAT! The wonderful Nan Parati is out on the streets with her team but they'll be done soon. If you haven't already sponsored a star, now's here's your opportunity to take some credit for all that holiday cheer. The lights will be up for over a month and you'll be helping spread goodwill that whole time!
Sponsorships are available at three different levels - $100, $500, and $1,000. All sponsors get their name (or someone else's name, should you care to sponsor a dedication or memorial) on a light pole star. Sponsorships at the $500 level makes you a named sponsor at December's Home for the Holidays event; sponsorships at the $1,000 level makes you a named sponsor at that and all other GBA events through-out the year.
Here's your last chance this year to help the GBA light up downtown!

Santa at Home for the Holidays
It's Time for Home for the Holidays
It doesn't seem possible but by golly, it is. Home for the Holidays is right around the corner!

Join us Saturday, December 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Veterans Mall to sit on Santa's lap from 11-1 and listen to lovely caroling from Greenfield Middle & High Schools, Stoneleigh-Burnham School, and Paul Calcari's new Franklin County Community Chorus from 1-3. While you're there, make sure to get some free Our Family Farms delicious creamy hot chocolate while supplies last.
We'll also be selling this year's GBA Holiday Ornament featuring the beautiful First National Bank building on Bank Row (you can also buy them at the Chamber, Baker Office Supply, the Brass Buckle, Imagine Jewelers, and Wilson's Department Store) - only $15.

While they're downtown, folks will be able to vote in the GBA's Holiday Window Display Contest - two lucky voters will be randomly drawn to receive $250 Greenfield shopping sprees! If you're a downtown Greenfield business that would like to participate, be sure to let Caitlin know ASAP; the two top vote-getting businesses will win either radio or newspaper prize packages.

We are going to celebrate the Holidays in style and we hope you'll join us!

Join the Holiday Window Display Contest NOW!
You have a couple more days to enter the GBA's Holiday Window Display Contest, thereby driving traffic to your business and potentially winning one of two media packages provided by WHAI or Bear Country (25 commercials, value $825) and The Recorder (three 2" x 10" full-color ads, value $1,000). Let's make Main Street the Fifth Avenue of Franklin County!

This year there's a $25 fee for businesses to enter (dollars or gift certificate); $20 for GBA members. Your fee will enable us to give away $250 Greenfield shopping sprees to two randomly-drawn voters.
Voting will take place only on the day of our Home for the Holidays event - Saturday, December 7 - and must be done in person so look for a bunch of people coming downtown to have fun and shop, eat, and shop some more.

Caitlin will be making up the maps and ballots in just a few days so let her know ASAP at gba(at)franklincc.org if you want to take part.

The 2013 GBA Ornament Has Landed
The new ornament's here, the new ornament's here! This year's GBA Landmark Ornament, the 21st, features the beautiful First National Bank building on Bank Row. The ornament is available for $15 at the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, where the GBA is ensconced; Wilson's Department Store; Baker Office Supply, the Brass Buckle, and Imagine Jewelers. You'll also be able to purchase them at our Home for the Holidays event on Saturday, December 7. Don't miss out; this one is a beaut!
Also, John Waite from the Franklin County CDC would like to remind folks that the building itself is also for sale. ;)

Greenfield Dollar 2013

Greenfield Dollars Make Great Gifts!
Don't know what to get your friend, co-worker, parent, sibling, or significant other for a gift this season? Hedge your bets and get them some Greenfield Dollars. That way you know they'll get just what they want while your money stays in the town you love. No need to go elsewhere - we've got it in Greenfield!

The Dollars can be purchased at the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce and Wilson's Department Store in $10 and $25 denominations and spent at nearly fifty participating GBA member businesses. A brochure with an up-to-date list of all GBA members is given along with each purchase; businesses who accept Greenfield Dollars are highlighted. The Dollars your business accepts are then redeemed at the Chamber minus a 2% administrative fee; the Dollars you purchase cost you nothing extra.

If you're a GBA member business that would like to accept Greenfield Dollars just talk to us; we'll give you a sign for your business and you'll be indicated on our brochure.

For more info on Greenfield Dollars, please contact Caitlin at 774.2791 or email gba(at)franklincc.org
