Last year downtown Greenfield saw a healthy boost of fall foot traffic over the holiday weekend, and this year promises to draw even more interest as people continue to discover Franklin County. On October 10th & 11th, downtown will come alive with the charm of a vintage-inspired Fall Fest, inviting visitors and residents to stroll Main Street and discover all that local businesses have to offer.
We’re encouraging shop owners to get creative with seasonal window displays, vintage-themed specials, pop-up racks of fashionable treasures, or tasty fall treats to draw people inside. WCMB will liven up the streetscape broadcasting LIVE from in front of Greenfield Records. It’s the perfect opportunity to showcase your storefront, welcome new customers, and celebrate the autumn spirit in Greenfield.

Our October Roundtable focuses on a valuable pathway to building capacity in your business - Internships, Service Learning, and Volunteerism! Together with GCC, MassHire, and others, the GBA is bringing together business owners and stakeholders to discuss the needs, unique values, and potential improvements that can be served by activating students and young people in the community. The Greenfield Business Association's work is strengthened by the knowledge provided directly by the business community, and we will be discussing the barriers to and structures around engaging people through these avenues of employment/volunteerism.
We hope you'll join us for a robust discussion aimed at actionable steps and ideas that the GBA can support. We've had great success in business districts around town, and are looking forward to bringing the conversation to this critical topic. Shout-out to former GBA Intern, Casey Aubrey, who pushed for this conversation through her new role with GCC as their Americorps VISTA.
*We also welcome resident groups and neighborhood stakeholders interested in talking about the businesses in the area, and providing constructive thoughts and feedback for the district.
If you have some business merch hanging around your office (or home), let us take it off your hands. We are restocking our GBA Member swag drawer here in the office, to have merch on hand to include in donation solicitations.
Interested in dropping off some merch or having us come by and pick it up? Email the GBA and we'll arrange the particulars!
The Greenfield Local Cultural Council grant application is open for the 2026 funding cycle! The applications are easy and well organized, and if you are a GBA Member, please don't hesitate to reach out for support. Cultural Council funds are great for small projects and events, and are open to artists, organizations, and community groups.
AND, if you're interested in helping make decisions about funding cultural happenings in Greenfield, consider applying for an open seat on the Local Cultural Council. This is great way to get involved and work on the vibrancy and connectivity of Greenfield! Curious? Reach out for more info! gba.4greenfield@gmail.com
FUN FACT: You do not need a permit in Greenfield to play on the street! Street musicians add a wonderful element to the downtown, and the GBA has a mailing list of musicians and performers interested in livening up the scene on key days and evenings during the Summer and Fall. Join the list and we'll reach out to suggest lucrative dates and events you may be interested in. While these are not compensated positions, buskers are encouraged to accept tips for their amazing contribution to the environment.
INTERESTED?! Hit the button below to join the Busker Mailing List and we'll keep you in the loop!

As he heads off to freshman year at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, we want to give a resounding shout-out to the GBA's inaugural Data & Content Management Intern, Zach O'Brien, who came to us through GCC. As a home schooled high school student, Zach completed his credits at GCC and worked with the GBA on multiple projects, including a wonderful video highlighting GBA Member testimonials, an awesome visual map of GBA Member businesses, and a HUGE amount of data cleanup and streamlining.
Congratulations, Zach, we wish you all the best at college!
